This course will train students to confidently write about their research in English. The primary focus will be transitioning their research and analysis into words for communicating to a wider audience. This will be aided by analyzing and identifying the main theme of research articles along with their overall structure and contents. Topics will include construction of a research article, the logical presentation of the material, writing style considerations including coherence, concision, and precision, and the submission and ‘response to reviewers’ process. The class format will include two hours of lecture and discussion each week and one hour of discussing research articles.
